Frequently asked Questions:
Q: Will my resin keepsakes stay clear forever?
A: The Rose Trellis Boutique only uses the highest quality UV resistant resin on the market. Over time your keepsake may gain a beautiful hint of amber. Your flowers will not change inside the keepsake and you will still be able to enjoy them for many years to come! Keeping your order away from direct sunlight and hot/cold temps will help with prolonging the original look of your items! Do not use harsh chemicals to clean your items. Mild soap and warm water are sufficient, and a microfiber if necessary.
Q: My flowers are old and dried can I still have you make something with them?
A: Yes! All flowers must be completely dry to encapsulate them in resin so air dried flowers work great! See some reference photos of air dried bouquets under the portfolio tab or visit my Instagram highlights!
Q: Will my flowers change colors when drying and in the resin?
A: Not in most cases. Things to consider are roses! Red roses will sometimes dry darker or burgundy but depending on the variety will stay bright red! White roses have a tendency to dry cream or shades of yellow this also has to do with the variety and freshness. Some rose varieties do dry bone white but not all. Inside the resin flower petals can become translucent in spots we call this bruising see more about bruising below. Orchids will also sometimes have the translucent spots on them along with a few other types of flowers but most noticeable are the roses. There is nothing in my power I can do to change this. Over time your resin piece may gain an amber tint but your flowers will remain the exact same inside.
Q: Help! How do I ship my flowers to you without them being ruined!?
A: Great and scary question if you have no experience shipping flowers! Don't worry one bit though because I receive flowers from all over the US! I only accept flowers from the United States. I do require you to ship your flowers no later than 72 hours after your event to get them to me fresh! Once your order has been set up detailed instructions are sent to help you with all your shipping questions!
Q: How long will it take to receive my keepsakes?
A: It will be around 6 to 10 weeks depending on the time of year and size of your order. The cut off for Christmas gifts is late October so keep that in mind! I do try to get everything back to you as soon as possible but I do not rush any of the many steps in the processes.
Q: Do I get my entire bouquet back once I send it to you?
A: If your bouquet is large with many varieties of flowers it is possible you may receive a small package with some of your flowers back but I do not preserve your entire bouquet. Depending on the size of your order and bouquet I deconstruct and preserve only the best flowers from your bouquet. If you would like the entire bouquet dried professionally or hung dry and shipped back to you separately please inquire with me before you ship your bouquet! This fee can range from $50 to $100 depending on the size of your bouquet.
Q: Do you accept returns or refunds?
A: Due to the delicate, intimate handmade nature of these keepsakes I do not accept refunds or returns on items. Each keepsake created has taken hours upon hours to create and they will not be factory perfect. Some small defects will be seen such as natural fibers and particles, small bubbles and light defects sometimes on the ending of your piece. If you are looking for something that you can pick up on the shelf of a big boxed store this may not be the right option for you. Each item is made with my hands and cared for like they are my very own with love in my heart. Somethings may not be perfect and that to me is the beauty of handmade custom art. No one item will ever be an identical match!
Q: Can you make anything with ashes?
A: Yes absolutely! Please message me with any questions!
Q: Why are some spots of my flowers translucent in my keepsake?
A: Once your bouquet is cast in resin some translucent spots or discolored areas may occur on some flowers. These are bruises your flower has received during it's lifetime. Bruising is not something that can be seen until resin touches the flower. Unfortunately there is nothing any preservation artist can do to keep these from occurring. Think of these little spots in your keepsake as part of your bouquets journey to get to you on your big day, and think of all the fun, hugs and dances you had with your special flowers!
